Red Knot - East Coast, USA

Silhouette of a Red Knot spreading its wings at sunrise:

Red Knot ( Calidris canutus ) spreading wings - Tri-state area, East Coast, USA

This particular shot was taken just few weeks ago at the location described on page 38 of my guide: https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/shorebirds-tri-state-nj-ny-ct-photography-ebook To my surprise, this bird was still in its breeding plumage! So late in the season! I will post a different shot showing its colors soon.

It was really fun watching this very tame bird feeding along the shoreline. Often walking into the water for an occasional bath. I really like the rising sun casting the golden light on the water.
