Peregrine Falcon nest - New Jersey

An adult Peregrine Falcon leaving 4 chicks, eyas, alone in the nest:

Peregrine Falcon ( Falco peregrinus ) eyrie - New Jersey

I like how at the end of this video clip all 4 chicks cuddle together with their necks intertwined to stay warm and safe.

I’ve received few comments and messages about my previous video and I want to clarify some things here. All my videos and photos of this particular nest were taken few years ago in a span of about hour and a half or maybe even less. Believe it or not, these birds do not nest in the same spot each year and It was the only year that I found them there. Despite being tempted many times, after recording these videos, I didn’t go back to this nest until these chicks were grown up and left the nest already. Sadly, not all survived. Most likely due to the natural causes, weather or maybe even predation from other birds of prey.

Did you notice the amount of feathers scattered all around the nest? More on that in upcoming video 😉
